It’s the sound of 22,830 students doing the Great Big Crunch
By Grace Evans
If 22,830 students each take a big bite of an apple all at once, would we be able to hear the “crunch!” across Hamilton?
That’s the idea behind the Great Big Crunch, a special day of food education where students across Hamilton will have the opportunity to take a synchronized crunch into an apple while learning about healthy snacking and local food.
At Tastebuds, Hamilton’s Student Nutrition Collaborative, we support breakfast and snack programs across the city. Twenty-five thousand meals are served every day, putting nutritious food into the hands and bellies of students, providing universal access to the right ingredients for them to concentrate on their school work and learn lifelong healthy eating habits.
